Kobold Love: Interlude 1, The Posse is building

My Kobold Love adventure plan post goes up at 20h00 EST tonight.

While we wait, I thought I’d share the names of participants who officially joined the ‘hack/test Chatty’s adventure’ part of the Project:

Cross-System Hacking:

Play Testing:

In fact, I may offer a prize for the playtest reports. Stay tuned.

Now just so we’re clear, I do not ask you guys to go to the end. I know how much work an adventure can be. The Final Prize (the 30$ Certificate and the Chainmaille bag) will go to someone who finishes it, but I’ll consider anyone that gives the project an honest attempt for the 2 participatory prizes.

Plus I expect people to jump in after the next post (Adventure Plan) as I bet people with different ideas will want to tackle it differently.

See you tonight…

If I wasn’t working on something already, I’d be all over this one too. I love the concept and would probably do it in 3.5e…but alas…time doesn’t permit :(

I’m currently learning the Burning Wheel system, and I’m debating trying to do this in that… I need to look over the books and figure out how much work it would be (need make some lifepaths for the Kobolds, to start), and then figure how much time I have…

My usual group is currently on a hiatus, so I may have more time than I would have originally thought…

Can’t wait to see the adventure plan.

    I am mysterious!

But I’m leaning towards d20 Modern. I have a different trope in mind for the structure…

Sweet…I had considered hacking for Star Wars…but then I thought, Kobolds + Star Wars = I has lost suspension of disbelief…

    Hmm…Jawas…

Dammit, now I’m tempted to throw my hat in…

Hmm…yes, perhaps Jawas are a bad idea…they never have been the staple of the genre…

Ewoks are where it’s at…Ewoks are the cuddly kobolds of the Star Wars galaxy…

    Oh…. that’s just wonderful!

I mean Throw some Gungans in this and you’ll have a Tropey Ewok’s revenge adventure!

There’s a very good chance I might hop on this bandwagon. My hiatus is coming to an end, and this sounds like too much fun to pass up. If I have the time, I’ll toss my hat into the ring with White Wolf’s classic Adventure! setting.

Ah…the Gungans would be a lot more likely to be targeted for attack by shady guys in cantinas…perhaps they should be the main focus…

There are so many horrid directions I can go, it’s delicious…

@Chatty: You can count on my comments and input! So far though, I’m loving the switch on a staple RPG trope. This should be fun!

I’ve put out a call to arms on the Microlite20 forums. Gonna make this a collaborative thang.

Not that it isn’t collaborative already of course :D

Hey! You didn’t link my name to scattershotgames.com

And when I said I’d ‘do it’ in Scattershot, I meant a full supplement with rules and charts and everything…full publishing rights to you.

@Fang: Corrected. I appreciate you offering me stuff Fang but that’s not what I ask for. Let’s have fun with the project and see where it gets us. Of course if you insist on giving me the adventure well I’ll make sure to put it to good use.

    Thanks!

    Felonius;
If you want to use Burning Wheel, do read Monster burner. It is somewhat useful. Here’s a relevant thread from their forums: http://burningwheel.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3075. I think the kobolds live in pages 3 and 5, though I am not absolutely sure.

This seemed like the best place to throw my hat in the ring.

    I’m in with Savage Worlds.

I’m surprised no one has chimed in with Risus yet.

@ Dr. Checkmate: Updated with your name in it.

It would be cool to get S. John Ross to tackle it… I mean stating it for Risus will take about 10 minutes.

And Skill challenges can definitively be used as is as Clichés rolls.

Wolfgang Baur proposed Toon on his site.
